Initially, the idea was simply to roughly record a few songs so they wouldn't be lost, since the bands they were written for no longer existed. But the more I got involved in recording the songs, the more joy I found in it and I realized that I wanted to write even more. The three songs it originally started with were “Fix myself a Drink,” “Catharsis,” and “Necessary Guidance.” Although, back then, they didn't even have those titles, sounded completely different, and were far from finished.

As the recording process began, it quickly became clear to me that the songs still needed a lot of work before they could be considered complete… Structure, instrumentation, arrangement and lyrics all had yet to come up with. 

The guys and I we are PHILOSTROPHIC

We finished those three songs and went on to write, produce, and record eight more for this album. Even though we often got out for lunch (...), we managed to complete the album. So that all took us three years...

Zunächst war da die Idee lediglich ein paar Songs grob aufzunehmen, sodass diese nicht verloren gehen, weil es die Bands nicht mehr gab, für die die Songs geschrieben wurden. Je mehr ich mich mit dem Aufnehmen der Songs beschäftigte, desto mehr Freude empfand ich dabei und merkte auch, dass ich noch mehr schreiben möchte. Die drei, um die es ursprünglich ging, waren „Fix myself a Drink“, „Catharsis“ und „Necessary Guidance“, auch wenn sie damals noch gar nicht so hießen,  auch vollkommen anders klangen und überhaupt nicht fertig waren. 

Da es nun ans Aufnehmen gehen sollte, wurde mir jedoch schnell klar, die Songs benötigen noch sehr viel Arbeit bis zur Fertigstellung… Struktur, Instrumentierung, Arrangement und Texte mussten noch erdacht werden. 

Die Jungs und ich sind  PHILOSTROPHIC 

- philosophisch, katastrophal und chaotisch -

 
Wir stellten die drei Songs fertig und schrieben, produzierten und nahmen noch acht weitere für dieses Album auf. Auch wenn wir oft zu Tisch waren (...), haben wir es nach ziemlich genau drei Jahren geschafft das Album fertigzustellen.
